Biblical Soul Care
(Sponsored by Lakeshore Baptist Church)
Love INC refers people to Lakeshore Baptist Church (click here for more information) and Harvest Bible Chapel (click here for more information) for Biblical Soul Care. Both offer this service for free. What that means is that they view problems and their solutions from God's perspective as presented to us in His Word. Biblical Soul Care differs a great deal from other popular and/or secular counseling. While these other approaches to counseling often view man's problem as the result of his environment, his parenting, or something else outside of him, Biblical counseling believes man's problems start within him. In Proverbs 4:23, God says, "Watch over your heart with all diligence for from it flows the issues of life."

Love INC accepts donated cars. All cars are inspected, and those deemed in good condition are then given to clients who fulfill the requirements of this program. Clients interested in receiving a car must fully participate in our budgeting program. They must save $250 in an emergency fund, set aside enough money to pay for three months of car insurance, and be able to afford the continuing monthly expenses they would incur for gas, car insurance, and car maintenance/car repairs. The minimum amount of time a client participates is 8 weeks and may go longer based on the client's income and dedication to the program. To find out more information a person needs to make an appointment with a Love INC counselor to receive a referral to this program.

Over 7 1/2 years ago the idea for a garden that provided fresh organic produce to the Love INC Food Pantries was launched. Now located on the Crockery site, the garden provides over 900 lbs. of fresh produce per growing season. Run completely by a volunteer staff of all ages, the garden provides a place of respite to see God's blessing of plants and insects. From the initial planting season, to weeding and watering, and finally the harvest, the garden is a place for many helping hands. Whether a green thumb or a novice in training, the garden has a place for you. Through-out the growing season, there are small group size projects, regular weekly jobs, or short term service hour projects. Consider volunteering in God's creation this next year.

Homes of Hope is FBC's effort along with Love INC to provide safe, affordable housing for homeless or low-income families in the TriCities area. Far from merely loaning a home to a family this is a unique outreach which seeks to bless families enslaved by debt and financial difficulties the chance to find freedom in Christ. We attempt to bless families with a community to support them and friendships that surround them. This ministry has resulted in families shedding tens of thousands of dollars in debt, individuals coming to know Christ, and some of the most heart-warming relationships that stretch and grow both our church and the families whom we seek to serve.

Loving Connections Budget Counseling Program
(Sponsored by Love INC)
This ministry is running; but we are in need of a church to take over or wok side-by-side with us. Many people today struggle with how to manage their personal finances. Love INC recognizes this and offers help for those who desire to learn how to manage their money responsibly. Our program consists of two parts: a class and one-on-one budget counseling. In the class, clients view Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace DVD series—a series that covers all aspects of personal finance. The class also includes a time for questions and discussion. It’s a great opportunity for families to share what they’re going through and to support one another as they work toward getting on track financially. In addition to the class, clients get to meet one-on-one with their own personal budget counselors, who teach them how to create and stay on a budget. Our budget counselors also act as their accountability partners, offering them not only help but also hope along the way.
